Makayla: 14 months

Makayla is 14 months old today!

I need to take some new pics of her,

but she is in constant motion which makes

that tough for her slow mom.

I'll work on it, though.

We've been working on words

lately (saying and repeating) and learning objects.

She said "Papa" to my

dad when he was here last weekend.

She also says "moo" when you ask her what

the cow says. Ha, she also says "moo"

when you ask her what the pig, duck and cat say.

All our barnyard animals toys are currently cows.

I ask her to say "mama" all the time,

and she always says "dada"...

then she will usually laugh.

If I didn't know better, I'd think

she was playing a practical joke on me!

She has started saying "Hi!" repeatedly

and waving at you and smiling. Just randomly...

even if you've been hanging out with her for the

last five hours, she might just say "Hi!" and wave.

Presh!

Hmmm...she LOVES shoes.

Hers and ours, and anyones.

She wore holes in the bottom

of her favorite pair, so they hit the trash

last night and new ones are on the way.

Makayla likes to bring you whatever shoes are

left around the house. She knows which

ones are mine and which ones are Brandon's,

always bringing us the correct pair.

She also loves trying to put on our flip flops,

or just carry them around.

She continues to have personality for miles!

She is usually sweet as pie,

always wants Mommy to hold her,

but is gaining some sass-i-tude.

When I picked her up from daycare

yesterday they had combined a few classes

and she was with some of the younger kids.

They laughingly said she was "walking around

like she owned the place."

She is a great helper, and will

bring you almost anything she finds

on the floor. Sometimes on her own,

but if you ask...she will hold her hand

out (with whatever object she's holding),

walk it over to you and hand it over.

Then sometimes she claps for herself, so proud!
