Makayla rolled over this morning!

Yay! What a big girl!

and, I missed it...

I was getting her bottles ready for day care!

Anyway, she was on her playmat

playing with her toys and rolling onto her

side like she usually does.

She got her lower body completely flipped over

but couldn't get her arm under her

to completely roll onto her belly.

Or so I thought...

I watched her for a while thinking she

would complete the roll

and nothing happened

so I went into the kitchen and started

getting bottles ready.

A minute, or so, later I decided to

check on her and 'lo and behold

she was on her belly.

She completed her first roll and I missed it!

Ah, man!

So I rolled her onto her back on the playmat

and sat there watching her until she did it again.
Yay!

She is on her way...

gonna be pushing up and crawling before

we know it!

Then the chaos begins!  :)

4 month photo shoot

I decided to have an impromptu photo shoot with Makayla after church yesterday afternoon.

rosettes

My Aunt Martha sent Makayla this cute

pink shirt with rosettes when she was born.

Cute, huh?

It was a little chilly so she donned

a white long-sleeved onesie underneath

and wore it to school yesterday.

Wordless Wednesday

jumperoo

Makayla is big enough to play in her jumperoo now!

Well, almost...

Her little feet didn't reach the ground to "jump"

so we put a little booster underneath and she was set.

Here she is working from her command center:

What a doll!

Makayla: 4 months old

I think it is the auto-color fix I used on the photo, but

doesn't her hair look red in this picture?

Sometimes it looks blond, sometimes reddish...

either way it's cute to me.

4 months old now

and we ventured back to the doctor yesterday.

My girl weighed 12 lbs even

and the doctor said she looks great and healthy.

She had to get a yucky shot, but

we hugged it out as soon as I could pick her up.

She did great, actually.

Makayla is continuing to become more and more

aware everyday.

She is constantly looking around and observing

everything and everyone.

Playing and having fun at school each day.

She loves her playmat, her music and lights mirror,

spending a few minutes in her jumperoo, her paci,

chewing on everything she can.

She can roll to her side and I know

sooner than later she is going to roll to her stomach.

Hope I'm with her to see it!

She still sleeps swaddled most of the time.

She likes to kick her legs out though,

and by the end of the night she usually gets her arms

out somehow. Little houdini-ette...

She will sleep through for a few nights and then

get up during the nights for a few.

She wakes and calls out to let us know she is

awake and then will play in her crib until we pick her up.

She always greets me with a smile in the morning

and loves a big hug first thing.

She is my sweet doll baby!
