easter basket/egg hunt

I love little traditions
and holidays,
so I went ahead and got
Makayla an Easter basket.

We gave it to her this morning
right before going to church.
She was already dolled up
in her dress
and ready to go,
so we had a quick dig through
the basket o'goodies
and then left for church.
oh boy, a purple egg to play with

a green egg and a little chick that peeps

moved on to the orange egg

so excited, waving the eggs in the air

After church we had a family
lunch and egg hunt for the kiddies...
she knows what to do...going straight for the pink egg

 lookie, lookie, I got it!

pretty in pink

I got an egg, I got an egg, I got an egg...hey, hey, hey, hey

oops, that sneaky egg almost got away from me

 look everybody, I got it!

am I just too stinkin' cute, or what?

Happy Easter!

happy easter

cousin birthday fun

We went with the Colberg and Walsh
families to Dan Nicholas Park
in Salisbury, NC
for playtime and a birthday party.

It really was a great park,
with a petting zoo
carousel,
train ride,
wildlife area,
putt-putt course,
small water fountain area
to play in during the summer,
lots of picnic tables
and shelters.

We had a great time
and got some cute photos to prove it!

sweet girl, just a laughin'

ok, so it was the fastest carousel I've ever seen...
the ride on the zebra turned into being held by "dada"

loving the petting zoo...laughing at the pig

amazing birthday cake for TJ

TJ not loving his smash cake, not a fan

 cute cuzzie Catie

we checked out the wildlife park,
while MMC napped in her stroller...

it got cut out of the pic, but she was

so happy she was cheering and clapping

makayla: 10 months

On the go,
busy busy,
sweet as pie!

That is our girl at 10 months old.
She is so happy and so busy!

Here are some action
shots from play time last weekend.

Most photos of her lately
are just a blur as she zooms
past the camera,
or because she starts jumping
as I try and take the photo.

As you can see,
one of her favorite
past times is to speed crawl
to the pantry, fling open the door,
and start pulling everything out from
the pantry floor.

Ha, sorry for the all photos
of her back...she is too quick for
me and doesn't want to look
at the camera long enough!

Here are some more of the busy bee:
post meal play session...clothes were dirty and it was hot, so nakey and a bib it was!

New lately is
clapping (yay!)
and a very funny laugh.
It sounds more like a cackle
or clearing your throat, which
is so funny for her normally
high voice.
She also likes
to click her tongue
and still likes to wave
at every thing and person,
near or far.

I believe she's going to be
fearless like her Aunt Liz.
She stood up and jumped
(not kidding...literally lept)
from the changing table into
her Daddy's arms the other night
and will stick her face into
the tub water to try and get a drink.
We need to get this girl a harness
and some swim lessons, fast!

MMC is starting to cruise from
sofa to coffee table, just a few little
steps while holding on.

She has moved up to taking
a regular bath in the tub,
without her ducky...
what a big girl!
Of course she likes to
stand up and sit down
over and over during bath tub
and is fascinated with the drain.

Oh, her top four
teeth are coming in.
One has cut through and is
about halfway in, and the
other three will be following soon!

She flaps her arms as
hard as she can to get out of the
carseat in the morings,
and smiles/waves at each
person as we walk into school
to see her teacher and friends.
I could keep going on and on,
but
I'll end with these final photos:
almost got her to look...wearing her farm girl top

texting her cuzzies to come play

i think this photo is hilarious...
like i've captured a photo
of the wild sasquatch
steathily creeping through the woods

and the planning begins...

time for me to start planning makayla's
first birthday party.

i must say that etsy
has been my go-to
for party inspiration

and here is where i've landed
with some help from Nina
cute custom centerpiece, banner and stickers
family party with a few outdoor games
using hot pink, light pink, white and light blue
world's prettiest party hat
balloons
(probably) homemade cupcakes with a cherry on top!

fun, simple, sweet!
