sunday afternoon playtime

Mommy and Makayla had some time to play
together, just us girls...
and we had a great time!
Can you tell from the photos that she is
into everything and playing means putting
everything straight in her mouth?

 She is reaching
and grabbing toys, pushing up on her knees and then toes,
stretching for things that are above her, and having
a wonderful time.

7 months: on the go

Busy girl!
Everyday brings a new chance to learn
and a new attempt at moving on her own.
She's perfected the scoot around in cirlces,
on the floor,
to reach whatever toy she is after.

But now she is mastering pushing up
on the knees and rocking.
She is on the verge of crawling
and it's pretty cute...
love that 'lil sugar pie honey bunch!

makayla: 6 months

My six month old will only be
that for a few more days,
then on to 7 months.

Continually hard to believe
how each month keeps flying by!

Makayla weighed 14 lbs 9 oz
at her 6 month well check
a few weeks ago.
She is still smaller
than a lot of other 6 month olds,
but her weight and height are
continuing to trend upward.

She is trying her very best to sit up
on her own,
is a wild woman on the changing table,
rolling - flipping - twisting - turning,
and is starting to try and pull her
knees under when on her belly.
She is going to be sitting up
and then taking off crawling!
Oh my!

She is starting to enjoy some of her solids
more during the day. She usually gets some oatmeal
and fruit in the mid-morning and then some
veggies later in the afternoon.

She only wants to nap for 45 min-1 hour
lately, but her night sleep continues
to do better and sometimes she sleeps through.

I am looking forward to what 7 months will hold!
