Makayla took her first single step 

by herself this evening!

She was playing

with a sippy cup,

and while holding it

she stood up in the middle of the 

room by herself, 

stood there for a moment,

then took one solitary step,

paused,

and then plopped

back down on her bottom.

B and I were both 

watching her at that moment

and saw it...

triumph!

It is so great to see her

accomplish

these new things in person.

I was so worried when

she was born about going

back to work full time

and was convinced 

that I was going

to miss all her "firsts."

That her teachers 

would see everything

and know her better than I would.

It definitely

hasn't worked out 

in that "worst case scenario"

way that my mind tends to create.

In fact, it seems

I am with her for all of them.

Blessed be to the Lord,

that gives me such precious time

with our daughter,

at just the right moments!

One step seems like

such a small feat,

but is such an exciting

and irreplaceable 

moment for her mother!
