makayla: 8 months

Makayla is 8 months old now!

She is on the move

and growing bigger

and sweeter

and prettier

each day!

She is crawling

and starting to pull up on things.

With lightning speed she still flips

on her belly on the changing table during

each diaper and clothes change,
but now she immediately
starts crawling off
to get whatever she spies.

I miss her like crazy during the day,

but watch her scooting around on

the camera at her school.

She is eating more food and loves

her oatmeal and fruit in the mornings.

She is always smiley, but laughing

more now...we like to give her lots of

kisses on the neck to make her giggle.

She is starting to do more baby talk

and likes to rattle off "bababababa."

She is remembering objects...

 if she sees something and then

it goes away

she goes looking for it.

She was on the changing table the 

other day and had her paci, took it

out of her mouth and tossed it on the floor,

then flipped that way and tried to 

look over that side of the table to find it.

So smart..

The kicker happened recently.
She was in her inflatable ducky tub

and I guess was bored just sitting on

her bottom playing, so she hooked her

little arms over the side of the real bathtub

and slowly (but deliberately)

pulled up to her feet.

I watched her stand up in her tub!

Then she just stood there smiling

at me, trying to decide what to do.

After a few seconds she leaned back

and plopped back down into a sit.

Oh, then for kicks, she did it again!

I guess bathtime fun is now

on high alert for baby standing...
