Cloth Diaper Review: Smartipants

This is my first cloth diaper review,

but I'll give it a go.

I have gotten quite a few odd looks when I said I wanted to

use cloth, but we've been using it for about a month

and it has been great so far. I am sure it won't be as easy when

I return to work (just the laundry aspect), and since her daycare

won't use them we can't go completely cloth...but we use them

while at home and for short jaunts.

They aren't nearly as difficult as one might think.

Smartipants have worked well for us, so far.

They function well and are friendly 

on the planet and the wallet.

I got a deal on mine, so I've

been even more pleased.

Smartipants are a one size pocket diaper.

Meaning they adjust to fit most babies,

weighing 7-35 lbs, and

has a sleeve/pocket/pouch that you

"stuff" with an insert.

On a 5-star scale here are my ratings

and reasons why:

Price: 5-stars: Great quality for price

Fasteners: 4-stars: Love the snaps, but only good not great

Bulk: 5-stars: Cute fluffy bum, but not too thick

Wasit Fit: 5-stars: Adjustable waist snaps to size, great

Leg Fit: 4-stars: A bit loose at leg, but no issues resulting

Leaking: 5-stars: No leaks to date

Ease of washing: 5-stars: Cold rinse, Hot wash, Good to go

Smell Issues: 4-stars: Inserts hold a bit of smell, vinegar wash fixes

Stain Issues: 5-stars: Washes freshly white each time

Drying Time: 5-stars: Quick drying...fantastic

Ease of use: 5-stars: Goes on like a 'sposie, but with snaps

Easy on Dad: 5-stars: No prob, Bob!

If you want low hassle these are pretty great!

It does take a few minutes to stuff the inserts

when they come out of the laundry,

but they are quite easy because the pocket

of the diaper is open on both ends.

This also allows for the insert to agitate

out in the wash, which is awesome,

so no unstuffing a wet or

messy diaper. Yay!

This is a huge plus to me.

I give this diaper a big

recommend

and it is even

made in the USA.
