36.5 week baby bump
Well, I had a doctor's appointment today
and got a bit of a shock.
I am still measuring small, so
they want to do another ultrasound next week
and possibly talk about baby girl coming early.
This is not what I was expecting,
and I'd much rather go into labor myself so
I was shocked and feel very unprepared.
I'm hoping and praying the scan will show
she is fine, has grown a lot,
and can keep camping out
in my belly for a few more weeks.
I've been assuming I would have several more
weeks to complete my "to do" list
and get the rest of her things ready,
but I guess I need to go ahead and
get busy in case things happen sooner than expected.
If nothing else, I have her cute initials hung up...
painted by her sweet Aunt Emily.
Washed most of her clothes and blankets already...
And framed and hung up her cute
baby shower invite.
So, she may not have an assembled
crib or installed car seat yet,
but she has some
cute pink and green swag!
Now, even though I'm praying
she won't be coming early
I think we are going to have a busy weekend...
just in case.
You look about the same size I was at 36 weeks! Surprises me too that you are measuring small! Will keep praying that she grows grows grows!!
ReplyDeleteOk, so I'm obviously clueless when it comes to having a baby, so I need help....what does measuring small have to do with inducing? You still look as cute as can be!

ReplyDeleteThey have these averages that they want your growth (and the baby's growth) to reach throughout the pregnancy. I guess it indicates to them that she is growing the right amount, and not too big or little. They measure your belly each time and I have been behind, so they act a little concerned how she is doing. They've been saying she is fine but small (like me), but I guess since I'm towards the end they want to determine whether it would be better to have her growing inside or outside the womb. Seems like it would be the opposite to me, but that is my understanding anyway...but also kind of a judgment call.
