Makayla: 1 month

Makayla turned one month old on July 2nd!
Crazy...how sleepless time flies!
She is growing so quickly,
gaining weight and becoming much more alert.
We go for her one month doctor appt on Friday,
so I'll report on her stats then.
For now she is already becoming quite the traveler,
she has already been to four states:
North Carolina (home sweet home)
South Carolina (stop off to see her Great Grandmother)
Georgia (2 week visit to Nana and Papa's house)
and Florida (first weekend beach trip).
She is a wonderful car rider and just snoozes away.
Waking only when she is hungry.

She eats about every three hours during the day,
and either naps (her preference is still being held to nap)
or plays with her hands and stares around in between.
We are working toward a three hour
schedule of: eat, activity, sleep...but as you can
imagine any kind of schedule, even a relaxed one,
is a little tough for a four week old.
So we will keep working toward that.

Night times are still day-by-day. She mostly continues her
three hour eating routine throughout the night but a few times
she has gone four to five hours.
These nights are more enjoyable :)
She doesn't like sleeping flat on her back or in her crib,
so she is mostly sleeping in this little baby papasan seat
we borrowed from Brandon's brother/sis-in-law
or when being held.
Something else we are working on...

We have loved our visit to Waycross!
Taking daily walks with Nana,
golf cart rides (to induce sleep) with Aunt Liz,
and napping on Papa's chest.
Makayla is one lucky and loved little girl!
One more day and we are headed back to Charlotte...
we are both going to miss Nana and Papa
and will have to come back very very soon!

MMC also got to meet lots of Monroe relatives
at Fernandina Beach this past weekend.

Other things Makayla loves:
movement
paci
Aden and Anais swaddle blankets (so soft)
her Daddy!
gulping down her bottles (cute little piggy)
holding her hands near or on her face
